Who Plays Pixel Pilot

Pixel Pilot is a free pixel-art flight simulator that runs in the browser, with nothing to install. Players fly over the real Earth and more than 9,500 real airports, so a sign at an airport is seen by the people who fly there. We do not sell data about players, and sponsors receive none.

The Signs

Each sign is a real-size bulletin board, 14.6 m by 4.3 m (48 by 14 ft), beside the main runway of 16 airports, with two signs at each. Players on the approach see them as they fly in.

A sign shows up to 14 characters: capitals, digits, spaces, hyphens and full stops. It has amber lights that run slowly round the frame, two red arrows that point at the text and a small AD tag. It makes no sound and opens no pop-up. Players who ask their system for reduced motion see the lights steady.

Signs And Their Status

The first sign of each airport is nearest the threshold, where arrivals pass. An open sign says ADVERTISE HERE.

Price And Auction

Each sign is sold by email auction. The opening bid is 50 USD per month. A bid must beat the current top bid by at least 10 USD a month. We reply to every bid by email with the current top bid and the closing date. When the auction closes, the highest bid wins.

The winner pays the first month in advance by invoice (bank transfer or a payment link we send). If the payment does not arrive within 5 business days, the next highest bidder is offered the sign. The signed order sets the length of the contract and the price of each further month.

How To Bid

  1. Write to taimirmoralesc@gmail.com with the subject "Airport sign".
  2. Give your company name, a business email address on your own web domain, the airport, the sign (nearest or farther), your monthly bid in USD and the text you want.
  3. Give the web address the sign should open. It must be your own, and it must use https.
  4. We reply with the current top bid and the closing date. Nothing is paid or published until both sides sign the order.

What We Check Before Anything Goes Live

We check every bidder, text and address by hand, and we may refuse any of them.

  • Your company and your web domain: we confirm that the email address is on the domain you give.
  • The address: https only, no login or payment form that asks for personal details, no download, and no redirect to another site.
  • The text: it must not copy a game, system, bank, airline or government message, or the name of a company you do not represent.
  • The payment: by invoice or bank transfer, before the sign goes live. We never ask for card numbers or passwords by email, and you should never send them.

Clicks And Leaving The Game

A click on a sold sign never sends a player anywhere without a question first. The game says they are leaving Pixel Pilot and shows the full address. It opens in a new tab only if they choose to continue. Sponsored links carry the sponsored and nofollow attributes.

A click on an open sign opens this page, in a new tab.

After It Goes Live

We can take a sign down at once if it breaks these rules or a player reports it. If we do, the unused months are refunded. Changes to the text or the address go through us by email and are checked again. The terms of use apply to every sign, and the signed order sets the rest.
